Shealyn is known for her tenacity through difficult situations on and off stage and for her light hearted nature in the room. She strives to leave every job with a good reputation and to push herself to be a better performer through every experience.
Shealyn Sailors was born in California and spent her childhood growing up in a musical family learning to read and perform music. She participated in many childhood team activities but always knew she wanted to spend her life working in the theater and would spend her time listening to the Les Miserable soundtrack over and over again in her room, to the dismay of her older brothers. Many of her young years were spent doing theater all across Southern California and getting to participate in many different theater experiences that would stick with her as she honed her craft as an adult. Shealyn had the opportunity as a teenager to assistant direct children's theater as well as teaching theater classes in summer camps. In her younger years she spent her time developing her passion for creating art on the stage and inspiring young people to reach their highest potential. Shealyn was also blessed to spend many of her years performing as a Disney Princess around San Diego, featured at events and even singing voice-over vocals for Disney on Ice. After high school, she attended the Boston Conservatory and received a BFA in Musical Theater with an emphasis in Directing and Shakespeare. Her senior year she had the opportunity to work one-on-one with composer Andrew Lippa on his musical "The Wild Party" during her directing emphasis, as it was her final directing choice and he was brought in as a guest at the time. She says that this was the most inspiring time in her life and it re-confirmed for her that she was doing exactly what she was meant to do. Her biggest passions are sparked when hearing Shakespeare performed or listening to Sondheim. When not performing on the stage Shealyn has performed in many live rock and corporate bands including 80's rock bands as well as groups that play in the "Big Band" style. She says she gets extra excited to sing the 40's music because she loves vintage wear and spending time posing for Pin Up style magazines and photographers. Shealyn has a secret affection for playing her Xbox on the weekend and takes pride in being a nerd in many fandoms. She has a strong belief that any artist should continue to be a student of life their entire career and plans on always staying a kid at heart.
